Invitation to Jane Davidson AM, Minister for Education and
Life-Long Learning,
to submit concluding evidence to the Commission
|
| I am writing to invite you to give evidence to the Commission before we conclude our
formal evidence gathering in July. We would like to give you the opportunity both to
update your earlier evidence and to present any new information that you feel would be
helpful to our inquiry. |
| The particular issues that the Commission would like to pursue with you are as
follows: |
- an update on changes in the funding of Higher Education and in particular the
discussions about the transfer of further powers which you announced on 22 January 2003
|
- an update on the Welsh Assembly Governments bid for education legislation in the
next Parliamentary session and the reasons why you opted for the legislation as the means
of delivering your objectives here
|
- the extent to which the development of education policy in Wales is constrained by the
England and Wales legislation eg on parental choice as suggested in evidence to the
Commission by Plaid Cymru on 27 February.
|
| The Commission would be most grateful for your help with the concluding stage of our
work. |
