Dear Sir

Re: Commission on the Powers of the National Assembly for Wales Equality Infrastructure in Wales

The Equal Opportunities Commission is pleased to submit the attached paper to the Commission on the Powers of the National Assembly for Wales. We attach a series of Responses to the Government Consultation on the Establishment of a Single Equality Body in Great Britain, which highlight points which I feel sure will be of interest to your Commission, as they illustrate how equality legislation is primarily a reserved function but has devolved elements.

It was not possible to comply with your original timetable, as much of this information was not in the public domain at the end of February 2003.

If you would like to discuss any of this any further, or would like any further written information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours sincerely
Kate Bennett
