Dear Sir
Powers of the National Assembly for Wales
I refer to the report being prepared by the Commission into the above.
The Town Council has considered the matter and is in support of amending the powers of the Assembly and also its electoral arrangements. The Council would support additional powers in relation to primary legislation specific to Wales. It would also support an increase in the number of Assembly Members. However it is strongly of the view that not less than two thirds of all Assembly members should be directly elected by constituency and not by proportional representation.
I trust that the views of the Council will be taken into consideration by the Commission during the course of its review.

Yours faithfully,

A W Davies
Clerk to the Council
